At the meeting of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Council held on November 1, 2018, in Sydney, Australia, Ardiana Bunjaku, Executive Director of the Association of Certified Accountants and Auditors of Kosovo (SCAAK), has been elected a member of the IFAC Compliance Advisory Panel.

This panel oversees and provides advice to IFAC staff on the implementation and operation of the members' compliance program and gives recommendations to the IFAC Board on the Review of Membership Obligations Declaration and on the admission of new members. The common purpose of this panel and the compliance program is to protect the public interest by promoting the adoption of international standards of accounting, auditing, ethics, and education in the public and private sector, and establishing quality assurance systems and implementation mechanisms of them through DOAs.

Mrs. Bunjaku is presently a technical advisor to IFAC’s PAO Development Committee after serving as a member for two terms. The IFAC PAO Development Committee is tasked with helping IFAC achieve strong, sustainable professional accountancy organizations around the world.

The full membership of SCAAK at IFAC since 2009 and the election of Mrs. Bunjaku as a member of IFAC structures shows that Kosovo has not only taken its place in the world map of accounting and auditing profession but is also playing an active role in the global developments of this profession.
